Parts for a water purification system

Electronic parts, once used in a (ex-patent-pending) prototype invention, are for sale as no longer required.

All parts comprising the system, as shown below, originally exceeding $7,000 when new, are available for only $880.

These three pipe-connected components, all operating by 12 volt DC power, are mounted on a solid aluminum backing plate (800mm wide x 710mm high). The function of the parts is to (a) pump impure water (e.g. bore water) through to (b) dual filters into (c) an Ultra Violet purifier, to produce purified drinkable water. The Ultra Violet purifier is manufactured by A.U.V.S. Operations Pty Ltd, Thomastown, Victoria, 3074 (Phone: (03) 9464 3855. Originally this unit (approx cost $960) was operated by 240 volts AC before a specialist factory conversion ($440) to operate on 12 volts DC.

The twin filters are the standard large water filters. A 12vDC Shurflo pump controls the water flow through the system

The system was controlled by a Zen electronic 12 volt DC  computer (was supplied by Omron Electronics) incorporating switchable timing relays (12 units are available - 3 shown here on the right above). A computer program on a CD, to suit all computers, including instructions for programming and previous working papers, is included in the package. The value of this controller-system when new exceeded $4,000 On the left above, a read-out shows the status of the operations at any stage. Also included are extension computer controllers to increase the capacity of the use of the timing relays so as to enlarge the capabilities of the system.

These parts, after once again being built into a working system by an electronically oriented person, would be ideal for purifying water from creeks or rivers or bores on a country farm using 12v DC battery power when and where AC power is not available or, perhaps, on a large marine vessel or in a recreation vehicle travelling in remote areas.

Another water purifier is for sale at $480, as shown below. The original cost was $620 plus cost of a special aluminum stand for $360 used to adjust the angle of this device to suit different slopes.

This device does not require power to operate it as it uses the sun to extract the water content from salt water (or from any other non-drinkable water) by condensation onto a glass sheet, from where it drip-slides into an output container. The output is pure and drinkable without further purification.
